Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped plugin settings
Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Art Project Group Custom Base Terms before 1.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via settings. The plugin stores setting values without input sanitization and outputs them without escaping, causing a crafted value to run when the affected page reloads. Administrator-level access and a later page load are required; the flaw bypasses unfiltered_html restrictions, including in WordPress multisite.
