Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published May 4, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Eirudo Simple YouTube Responsive 2.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcodes. The shortcode handler places user-supplied attributes into generated embed markup without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the injected script runs when another user views the affected page, enabling browser-session data access or page-content modification.
