CVE-2023-25941

Local privilege escalation and compliance-mode bypass

Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025

Elevation of privilege in Dell PowerScale OneFS 8.2.x through 9.5.0.x allows local users to gain privileges on compliance-mode clusters. Dell identifies incorrect default permissions but has not disclosed the affected component, permission setting, or operation that consumes it. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and can expose information, interrupt service, and violate the cluster's compliance-mode guarantee.
