Administrator-level UEFI variable modification
Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Improper input validation in all versions of Dell Client Platform BIOS allows local users with administrator privileges to modify a UEFI variable. Dell has not published the affected firmware routine, the rejected input property, or how validation of the UEFI variable write fails. Administrator-level local access is required; the documented consequence is limited to firmware-variable modification and low availability impact.
