CVE-2023-25930Network attack vector

Remote service crash via special register setting

Published Apr 28, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025

Improper input validation in IBM Db2 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5 allows remote attackers to terminate the database server by setting a special register. Db2 accepts a special-register value that, under rare conditions, reaches an undisclosed validation flaw and causes abnormal server termination. IBM has not disclosed the affected register, the invalid value, or the processing path; exploitation requires network access and a rare condition.
