Browser script execution via stored feature content
Published Jul 21, 2023 · Updated Apr 10, 2025
Stored XSS in Esri ArcGIS Server 11.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a victim's browser via crafted content. An anonymously accessible Feature Service with edit capabilities accepts attacker-controlled content that ArcGIS later renders without sufficient output neutralization. Anonymous editing must be enabled, and a victim must click the stored content; execution is confined to the victim's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
