Authenticated code execution via unchecked album extension
Published Mar 27, 2023 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Pluck CMS 4.7 through 4.7.16-dev4 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via albums. The albums_page_admin_editalbum function copies an uploaded image under its supplied executable extension without checking it against an image allowlist. Administrator access to the albums module is required; a crafted JPEG that survives GD normalization runs as a web shell with the web server's privileges.
