CVE-2023-25801Public exploit

Memory corruption via incomplete pooling-ratio validation

Published Mar 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 19, 2025

Double free in TensorFlow before 2.11.1 allows local users to corrupt process memory through a crafted fractional pooling ratio. The FractionalAvgPoolOp and FractionalMaxPoolOp kernels use an OR check where an AND is required, accepting unsupported pooling on either the batch or channel dimension. Reachability requires a local computation path that passes the malformed ratio into either operation; the resulting allocator corruption causes a process crash or unauthorized memory access.
