Stored XSS via unescaped bundled template fields
Published Feb 15, 2023 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Stored XSS in Jenkins Email Extension Plugin 2.93 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via email previews. Bundled Groovy HTML templates interpolate build display names, cause descriptions, package names, and test names without XML escaping. An attacker must control one of those stored fields and induce another user to preview the generated template, enabling script execution in that user's Jenkins session.
