Authenticated command execution via NTP server field
Published May 8, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
OS command injection in Advantech EKI-1521, EKI-1522, and EKI-1524 through 1.21 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The web interface passes NTP server input from a crafted POST request to an operating-system command without neutralizing command syntax. A valid device account and network access to the management interface are required; successful injection compromises the appliance.
