Administrator-session script execution via unescaped query attribute
Published Jun 5, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025
Reflected XSS in AYS Pro Plugins Quiz Maker before 6.4.2.7 allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser. The quiz-maker-settings admin page writes the ays_quiz_tab query parameter into an HTML attribute without escaping, so injected accesskey and onclick attributes create a script handler. Exploitation requires an administrator to open a crafted URL and activate the injected shortcut, after which script runs in the WordPress origin with that session's access.
