CVE-2023-2570

Kernel code execution via unchecked IOCTL index

Published Jun 14, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper array-index validation in Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS Control Core Services allows local users to execute kernel code. Foxboro.sys accepts an unpredictable array index from an IOCTL request without adequately validating that it remains within the intended bounds. A crafted local script or program can interrupt service and, in the more severe outcome, execute code in the Windows kernel.
