Arbitrary file upload despite validation errors
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in baserCMS 4.7.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to upload malicious files through Upload File Management. The BcUploadBehavior afterValidate callback continues into upload request and temporary-file setup even after model validation records errors. An exposed management system is required; accepted files can be stored despite validation failure, with consequences determined by file type and server handling.
