Authenticated code execution via skipped update extension check
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in baserCMS 4.7.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code through file management. BcAppModel::fileExt checks extensions for new file arrays but skips the allowlist when an update supplies a stored filename string. Management-system access must be granted to a non-operator user, who can submit a dangerous extension that the web server executes as code.
