Improper exceptional-condition handling in affected Modicon controllers allows remote attackers to interrupt service over Modbus TCP. Schneider Electric has not disclosed which Modbus TCP message field or exceptional condition the controller mishandles. Access to the controller's Modbus TCP service is sufficient; the reported consequence is controller denial of service, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
