Authenticated server outage via resource-exhausting error requests
Published Mar 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Resource exhaustion in SAP NetWeaver AS for ABAP and ABAP Platform allows remote authenticated users to make the server unavailable. An unused error-handling class accepts crafted request parameters that consume enough server resources to exhaust service capacity. Non-administrative credentials are required, and successful exploitation causes an availability-only outage without reading or modifying data.
