Arbitrary file read via downloadzip path traversal
Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Path traversal in Fortinet FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer management interfaces allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files. The history downloadzip handler accepts crafted web-request paths without keeping file resolution inside its intended directory. A valid management-interface account is required, and the consequence is read-only disclosure of files accessible to the service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=6.4.0 <=6.4.10
- Affected versionversion=7.0.0 <=7.0.5
- Affected versionversion=7.2.0 <=7.2.1
