CVE-2023-25569Network attack vector

Role assignment via disabled CSRF protection

Published Feb 20, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025

Cross-site request forgery in Apollo Portal before 2.1.0 allows low-privileged users to grant themselves roles via an authenticated administrator's browser. AuthConfiguration disables CSRF checks, and a role-assignment POST accepts path variables without a request-body token, allowing a malicious page to submit it with the administrator's cookies. Exploitation requires the administrator to visit the attacker-controlled page; the resulting impact is unauthorized role assignment and privilege escalation.
