Device compromise via undersized authentication keys
Published Apr 18, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Improper authentication in Schneider Electric Merten KNX devices allows attackers with KNX installation access to compromise a device. The devices accept an entered key shorter than seven digits instead of enforcing the minimum key length. Access to the KNX installation is required; compromise permits limited information disclosure, device alteration, and service interruption.
