Stored XSS via unescaped webserver log entries
Published Apr 18, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Stored XSS in EcoStruxure IT Data Center Expert 7.9.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via webserver logs. The DCE webserver stores attacker-controlled input in log entries and later emits it into a web page without neutralizing active content. A high-privilege account and a second user's interaction are required; exploitation can read or alter data in that user's browser context without interrupting service.
