Authenticated PHP file inclusion via module traversal
Published May 5, 2023 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Path traversal in Unilogies Bumsys before 2.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to include unintended PHP files via crafted module values. The include/apps/xhr handlers concatenate the module parameter into PHP file paths and load an existing result without first removing traversal sequences. Administrative privileges are required; successful exploitation executes the selected server-side file in the application context, exposing or changing application data or interrupting service.
