Authenticated cross-user script execution via unescaped Select2 text
Published May 5, 2023 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Stored XSS in the Select2 interface in Unilogies Bumsys before 2.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser. The assets/js/bms.js templateSelection and templateResult callbacks return stored state.text values as HTML instead of encoding them as text. A low-privileged user must save crafted option text and another user must load the affected Select2 view, causing script execution in that user's session.
