CVE-2023-25526

Adjacent-network service interruption via uncaught packet exception

Published Sep 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

Uncaught exceptions in neighmgrd and nlmanager in NVIDIA Cumulus Linux before 5.5.0 allow attackers to interrupt service via crafted packets. The daemons fail to catch an exception raised while processing an injected packet, causing the network service to fail. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access but no privileges or user interaction; the documented consequence is denial of service only.
