Path traversal in NVIDIA DGX-1 BMC versions before 3.39.3 allows local users with high privileges to upload and download arbitrary files. The IPMI handler does not limit attacker-controlled pathnames to an intended directory, enabling arbitrary file transfer. Successful use can expose or alter files, elevate privileges, or interrupt service; NVIDIA has not disclosed the specific request or function.
