CVE-2023-25505

Arbitrary code execution via IPMI handler buffer overflow

Published Apr 22, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025

Buffer overflow in the NVIDIA DGX-1 BMC IPMI handler before 3.39.3 allows local users to execute arbitrary code. The handler performs an unchecked buffer copy of attacker-controlled IPMI data; NVIDIA has not disclosed the affected command or function. Low-privileged local BMC access is required, and exploitation can also disclose information or interrupt BMC service.
