Privilege escalation via exposed SIP credentials
Published Apr 27, 2023 · Updated Jan 31, 2025
Cleartext credential exposure in VTech VCS754A firmware before 1.1.1.H allows remote authenticated users to obtain SIP credentials. The phone's administrative web interface places SIP usernames and passwords directly in returned raw HTML instead of withholding or protecting them. Low-privileged web access is required; the exposed credentials enable privilege escalation and disclosure of associated sensitive information.
