Credential disclosure via unauthenticated event-configuration endpoint
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025
Incorrect authorization in ATEN PE8108 firmware 2.4.232 allows remote attackers to read event-notification credentials over HTTP. The web interface serves /xml/event_notification.xml without validating a session, exposing URL-encoded SMTP credentials and SNMP authentication data. Reachability requires network access to the management interface; the demonstrated consequence is credential disclosure for configured notification services.
