Restricted-user outlet control via missing authorization check
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025
Incorrect authorization in ATEN PE8108 firmware 2.4.232 allows remote authenticated users to control unassigned power outlets. The web interface's connections.cgi handler accepts an outcont40X field and changes the selected outlet without enforcing the session user's outlet-access matrix. A restricted-user session and network access to the management interface are required; switching an unassigned outlet off interrupts connected equipment.
