Vault secret disclosure via disabled TLS verification
Published Apr 10, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025
Improper certificate validation in Allegro Tech BigFlow before 1.6.0 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read a Vault secret. The get_vault_token function sends the X-Vault-Token header to a configured Vault endpoint through requests.get with certificate verification disabled. Exploitation requires a network position between BigFlow and Vault and exposes the secret used to obtain a Vault token.
