CVE-2023-25365Public exploit

Stored XSS via disguised MP3 upload

Published Feb 8, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025

Stored cross-site scripting in October CMS 3.2.0 allows local users to execute script in a victim's browser through an uploaded MP3 file. The media upload path accepts HTML content labeled with an allowed .mp3 extension and later serves it without validating the content type, causing the browser to interpret the file as HTML. Exploitation requires access to the upload function and a victim to open the uploaded file's URL; the public report demonstrates browser script execution, not server-side arbitrary code execution.
