Code execution via unneutralized spreadsheet formulas
Published Apr 25, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
CSV injection in ChurchCRM 4.5.3 allows attackers to trigger malicious spreadsheet formulas through exported person records. PersonEditor.php accepts formula-leading First Name and Last Name values, and the people CSV export emits them without neutralizing spreadsheet syntax. Exploitation requires record-creation access and a user to open and interact with the exported file; the proof demonstrates a clickable hyperlink, while the CVE record reports arbitrary code execution.
