CVE-2023-2533Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator-assisted code execution via unprotected configuration requests

Published Jun 20, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Cross-site request forgery in PaperCut NG/MF before 22.1.1 allows remote attackers to execute code through a logged-in administrator. The Application Server accepts state-changing ConfigEditor and PrinterDetails requests without CSRF protection, allowing a crafted page to enable print scripting, disable its sandbox, and install a print-job hook. Exploitation requires an administrator with a current session to open the crafted link; successful requests can alter security settings and run commands with the server's authority.
