CVE-2023-25280Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated root command execution via ping_addr filtering bypass

Published Mar 16, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

OS command injection in D-Link DIR-820L A1 firmware 1.05B03 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands as root via ping.ccp. Within /sbin/ncc2, sub_49EDF8 appends the ping_addr request value to a system command, while hasInjectionString omits newline and dollar-sign metacharacters. The pingV4Msg action is reachable without authentication, and successful injection grants root-level control of the router.
