Administrator session hijacking via reusable PHPSESSID cookie

Published Feb 13, 2023 · Updated Mar 21, 2025

Improper session management in Pimcore 10.5.15 allows remote attackers to hijack an administrator session via a stolen PHPSESSID cookie. The server accepts the same PHPSESSID from different computers and addresses without rotating the cookie or revalidating the session. Exploitation requires tricking an administrator and obtaining the cookie; successful replay permits impersonation and administrator-authorized actions.
