Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked sprintf parameters
Published Feb 27, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W30E firmware 1.0.1.25(633) allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the router. The fromRouteStatic handler passes the entrys and mitInterface request parameters to sprintf without length checks, overflowing its stack buffer. An unauthenticated request to /goform/RouteStatic is sufficient; crafted values can interrupt routing service or execute code on the device.
