CVE-2023-2522Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command injection via COUNT parameter

Published May 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

OS command injection in VEC40G Network Detection 3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via crafted COUNT input. The /send_order.cgi?parameter=access_detect endpoint passes the COUNT argument containing shell metacharacters such as “3 | netstat -an” to an operating-system command interpreter without neutralization. High-privilege network access is required; successful requests can read, modify, or interrupt appliance operations.
