Unauthenticated code execution via stack overflow
Published Apr 7, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda AC5 firmware 15.03.06.28 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause denial of service via crafted payloads. The R7WebsSecurityHandler function mishandles crafted input, overflowing a stack buffer in the router's web handler. The network-exposed management service requires no authentication; exploitation can crash the device or permit code execution.
