CVE-2023-2520Network attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unsanitized ping destination

Published May 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Command injection in Caton Prime 2.1.2.51.e8d7225049(202303031001) allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through the Ping Handler. The cgi-bin/tools_ping.cgi?action=Command endpoint incorporates the Destination argument into Ping Handler command processing without neutralizing command syntax. Authentication is required; published evidence does not identify the execution account or whether the interface is exposed by default.
