Repository credential disclosure via unsanitized error formatting
Published Feb 8, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Information disclosure in Argo CD 2.6.0-rc1 through 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to read repository credentials. The validateRepo path formatted the entire Repository object into an error, so secret fields such as GitHub App private keys reached API responses and server logs. Reachability requires applications create or update RBAC access and a repository-access error; successful triggering discloses stored credentials without changing data or interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
