Unwatermarked preview disclosure via unchecked share permissions
Published Feb 13, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Improper access control in Nextcloud Server and Enterprise Server allows attackers to view unwatermarked previews through hide-download shares. In Server 24.0.4 through 24.0.7 and 25.0.0 with Nextcloud Office 6.0.0 through 6.3.0 or 7.0.0, the preview path fails to consult node and share permissions. Possession of an affected share link is required; document content appears without the configured watermark, but the flaw does not permit file modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
