CVE-2023-25141Network attack vector

Repository data disclosure via unrestricted JNDI lookup

Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Mar 20, 2025

JNDI injection in Apache Sling JCR Base before 3.1.12 allows remote attackers to disclose repository data through crafted lookup input. RepositoryAccessor.getRepository and getRepositoryFromURL pass supplied names, contexts, or URLs to JNDI lookup and RMI repository clients without restricting remote locations. Exploitation requires JDK 1.8.191 or earlier and application code that forwards attacker-controlled input; the published impact is repository-data disclosure.
