CVE-2023-2514Network attack vector

Database credential disclosure via unredacted startup logs

Published May 12, 2023 · Updated Dec 6, 2024

Sensitive-data exposure in affected Mattermost Server releases allows remote authenticated users to read database credentials. During server initialization, the database configuration logging path emits the configured username and password without redacting either field. Exposure requires privileged access to application logs, where the credentials can permit database reads or changes within the database account's permissions.
