Authenticated code execution via unbounded interface formatting
Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Milesight UR32L 32.3.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via HTTP requests. The handle_interface_acl path passes the interface JSON value to sprintf without a length bound when in_acl is -1, overflowing vtysh_command_buffer. High-privilege access to the router management interface is required; successful exploitation compromises the router.
