Arbitrary code execution via unchecked description length
Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Milesight UR32L 32.3.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through an HTTP request. The firewall_handler_set function copies the request's description value into vtysh_command_buffer with unbounded sprintf formatting. High-privilege management access is required; a crafted oversized value corrupts the router process, with the published proof of concept demonstrating a crash.
