Code execution via out-of-bounds SPP parser write
Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation before 2201.0006 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted SPP file. The SPP parser writes past the end of an allocated buffer while processing attacker-controlled file contents. A user must open the file; successful exploitation runs code in the current process and can also crash the application.
