Code execution via SPP parser buffer overwrite
Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation before 2201.0006 allows attackers to execute code through a crafted SPP file. The SPP parser writes past the end of an allocated buffer while processing attacker-controlled file data. Exploitation requires a user to open the file, and resulting code runs with the current process's privileges; a failed attempt can crash the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
