Code execution via uninitialized SPP parser pointer
Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Uninitialized-pointer access in Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation before 2201.0006 allows remote attackers to execute code via SPP files. The SPP parser accesses a pointer without initializing it, allowing execution in the context of the current process. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted SPP file or visit a malicious page; success can crash the application or run code in its process.
