Web content and session poisoning via Host header
Published Mar 2, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
HTTP Host header injection in IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.3 allows attackers to poison web content, caches, or sessions. The GUI consumes an inadequately validated Host request header, but IBM has not disclosed the affected endpoint or downstream sink. IBM's sources disagree on whether authentication or victim interaction is required; the bounded reported outcomes are XSS, cache poisoning, and session hijacking.
