Code execution via malformed Path.Stroke brush
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 28, 2025
Type confusion in Microsoft's PostScript and PCL6 Class Printer Driver allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted XPS file. MSxpsPCL6.dll accepts an invalid Brush object for Path.Stroke and invokes its virtual function table as though the object had the expected type. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and print processing of the crafted document, enabling code execution or a printing-component crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
