Script execution via unescaped diagnostics parameters
Published Jun 5, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025
Reflected XSS in Stop Spammers Classic before 2023 allows remote attackers to run scripts in an administrator's browser. The ss_diagnostics page places attacker-controlled author and subject POST values into HTML attributes without sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires an administrator to submit an attacker-crafted form, after which the script runs with that administrator's site-session privileges.
